And now for a few images from a recent shoot with Amy:
Well, the time has come for a bid farewell to a major part of my life, and a welcoming to a new beginning. We discussed it for a bit over on facebook, but at the time, I was hesitant. Now, however, I’m convinced. I’m committed.
It all started about a month ago. My PC was doing all sorts of crazy things that made no sense and seemed to have to solution. For weeks I trouble shot, I replaced components, and with each new component, the problem seemed to have been fixed, but then arose again with a vengeance, bringing along with it several friends. Finally, last week I had done it! I was a hero. I had righted the wrongs I had apparently committed against the PC gods, and they had forgiven me. Or so they led me to believe. Four days after my celebration dance, the demons had returned! I threw my arms up in frustration, disassembled every last piece, and marched into Micro Center, with receipts in hand. At this point, I’d like to commend Micro Center. Those blessed souls allowed me return every component without question. Even those that fell outside their return policy.
So now, after weeks of frustration, tears, and sweat, I’m ready to make the change. Goodbye PC. Hello Mac. While I’m sure there is a lot of the “grass is greener” syndrome, I’m confident nothing can be as bad as my last month with the PC monster. I’ve been on the fence for over a year now. Even started cheating in December when I purchased my Mac Book Pro. But now it’s official. I am now a Mac!
And now that I have bored you all to death with my conversion story, let me reward you with a little eye candy! I have SO MUCH stuff I’ve accumulated over the past weeks to share with you. I’ll be posting daily until I get caught up! I’ll start with a few images from a shoot I did for a local salon, Scappare. The place is incredible, and the stylists were awesome as well, so if you’re in the area and in need of a great updo or spa treatment, you should definitely check them out.
A few images from a modeling shoot we hosted along with Jean Smith Photography and Brittni Schroeder…and of course we couldn’t have pulled anything off without the amazing work of our stylists and makeup artists! We shot a boat load of cool stuff, so much more to come throughout the week!
Makeup: Emily Zelenak and Courtney Peters from Donoven’s Salon
Hair: Mandy Gutierrez also from Donoven’s Salon
Wardrobe: Molly Shaheen
We’ll start the week’s images of with a series of Katie and Krystle taken at the Blue Note Cafe just around the corner from the studio. They were awesome and totally let us invade their space for about thirty minutes for the shoot. Thanks Blue Note Cafe!!!
So today begins the third and last week of our series of contests…the editorial shoot! So some of you may be wondering what I mean by “editorial”. Well, do you have a talent you want to document? Are you in a band? Write a book? Sing, play sports, model, etc? Yeah, pretty much any cool thing you do, we’ll photograph. So how do you win? If you’re new to the contest, check out our rules by clicking HERE. (You can view the winners of last week’s contest by clicking HERE.)
As usual, we’ll give you some examples of what you could expect from an editorial shoot: Below you will find an athlete, a band, a model, a musician, and an author. Good luck in the contest!
I had the opportunity to host an editorial model shoot a couple weeks ago with my wife, Jean Smith and Brittni Schroeder (another local photog in Canton, MI…who by the by has decided to abandon us and move to Texas…all you Texans out there – look out, because here comes a KICK-ARSE photographer). We had hair done by Mandy Gutierrez and makeup by Emily Zelenak (who totally rock the hair/makeup scene…so if you’re in the market, look them up!). Here a just a few of the images from the night.
Quick reminder…only two days left to enter our first giveaway for a free “I freaking love him/her so much” session. You can read the full details here. Remember you can enter up to three times a day…

For those of you who are fans of the Boka Facebook page, you may have already seen this first image…but here are few more from the swamp session with Haley.
